Hello.

In VS Code, if I paste into text into the chat window -- whatever text I paste get's duplicated. This is what it looks like:

Would really appreciate a fix. Thank you.

Hello @michellepace, we appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. We are aware of the situation where the highlighted text is duplicated in the question box when pasting. Our team is actively working to correct this. We value your patience as we resolve this matter. Your feedback is essential to us at CodeGPT. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

Hi Adel, I’d love to be able to control the prompt temperature, it’s very verbose. Or just a little slider that says “more concise <-> more verbose”.

I’m unsure if you are somehow adding something extra to the prompts that get typed in? If you are, the replies are very long.

The same copy / paste duplication happends to me.

We are aware of the situation where the highlighted text is duplicated in the question box when pasting.

Contrary to this statement, no duplication happends when text is only highligted in the editor nor added as "import selection" (and not pasted in the chat box).

Please note that the bug appeared in version v3.3.30 when the "import selection" feature was introduced, and when the chat box was reworked. It is still present as of today (v3.4.22). This bug is NOT present in version v3.3.25

It drove me crazy, I’ve switched over to Continue.Dev (because I wasn’t using GPTs). It’s lovely.

@michellepace I'm reporting this problem, and I will try to push the team to solve it as soon as possible. Also, you can try on another SO to know if it only happens on Ubuntu because using the latest version on Windows or MacOS works well.
