Hi Jürgen, nice article! I read that my restup project didn't work as a background app, but it should. There is a sample background app included in the git repository. I'm curious why it didn't work on your project. Could you add an issue on the repo with some details?

Hi Tom, many thanks for your comment.
The error message is, that some of the types inside Restup are not WinRT compatible. What ever that means. Sure, I'll add an issue with some more details. :)
Anyway, it works pretty well with a usual universal app. :)

Hi Roman, many thanks for your comment :) Almost all relevant code is posted in this blog post. But I'll put that project on GitHub in the next days.

Hi Jurgen.
I can see in the code that you tried to add a camera functions.
Do you have example to broadcast video from camera via wi-fi in to web page. I can't find examples in internet.
I already had the same Rover, but it worked on Arduino and in conjunction with TP-Link small router with Open WRT firmware for sending and receiving commands and video over Wi-Fi. It was fine but It took a lot of space in the Rover.

Thank you.

Hi Roman,
I'm pretty sorry, but I didn't implemented the camera access 'till yet. I just prepared some code to get the camera stream, but I didn't really tried it.
I'll update the repository, when I continue working on it.
Cheers,
Juergen

Hi, for someone who just bought a pi and wants to accomplish this by himself one day, what path you recommend taking? (learn through books, websites, videos, etc do you recommend anything specific?)

Hi Gonçalo,
I followed some blogs and tutorials, like https://blog.adafruit.com/ and https://www.raspberrypi.org... and played a lot with this stuff. There are also many good videos on youtube. It depends on what you want to do with the RPI
