I can't find the place where I've already wrote this, but don't you think it would make sense to merge all of these identical blocks within an else, which would include anything not Windows and OS X?

I used separate blocks since it's the road that had been taken for distinguishing Linux from FreeBSD. But indeed it looks like those blocks could be merged, at least for the time being.

I'm dropping this pull request. The rem_pio2 stuff does not compile on GNU/kFreeBSD and Hurd.
