Sorry for my jumping in this year. I find I could do something this summer to re-excite the org a little bit. But starting from mid Aug, I have to focus on my PhD dissertation and paper writing on research stuffs. Since @amitjamadagni has started this conversion in the Gitter chat session and I have also reached out to some people in the org, I will collect up some ideas on this opening post to see if we could get together briefly (1-2 hr chat) to sort out some crucial step stones to crack out for the org. Feasible and necessary? I am seeking who can organize this discussion -- if no one is free to host, I will try my best.
_Ideal meeting/chatting time slot_: July 23-29, or soon later in Aug.
_Let us know your preferred time slots_ (comment below or contact @i2000s):
@Yongjianhan prefers days after July 23 Beijing time. Detailed time to followup. @Roger-luo
@i2000s prefers July 23-29 or days after Aug 6th. Will meet wth @amitjamadagni and @Jutho and maybe folks in MIT while presenting in Gordon Research Workshop and Conference from July 30th -- Aug 5th.
_Form of meeting_: could be a Gitter Chat. Or other better forms upon requesting.
Please comment in this thread for _ideas worth discussing and if you want to lead some topical discussions_. I will update this opening post before the meeting. Feel free to sign yourself to lead corresponding topical discussions.
Theoretical ideas to explore
(for collaborative research efforts under the org's umbrella in the future):
[ ] From simple time evolution to stochastic processing in quantum systems, and its generalization in quantum circuit language. ( @i2000s, see note part I and more notes to come)
[ ] Efficient storage/computing strategy for representing quantum objects/types. Will touch the base on symbolic calculus and tensor networks. ( @i2000s and maybe @ntezak and @Jutho , notes to come)
Coding works to focus on:
[ ] QuCmp.jl initiative and mid-term review ( @Roger-luo )
[ ] QuBase.jl and existing projects. ( @amitjamadagni and maybe @jrevels , @acroy )
Organizational topics:
[ ] What is the bottleneck and best thing to do in promoting the org. ( @i2000s or preferably if anyone else to lead the discussion)
[ ] Recruiting efforts and focus. Some people are getting busy next year, some people can do something new. Promote active developers to join the steering team. (have heard something with @jrevels and other @JuliaQuantum/juliaquantum members)
[ ] Coming events and activities ( @amitjamadagni and anyone who can organize some future events)
Other aspects.
@amitjamadagni could you followup on the Roadmap update, and I will help you on side on documenting important conclusions for future records?
Feel free to chime in. The meeting/chat will be open to public, and accepting suggestions on your preferable time and topics. Details to follow up, and I will contact some individuals later if you don't comment here.
