If we merge this, it would be good to try it out on "staging" before releasing. I.e. merge it to master & re-enable https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/General/actions/workflows/automerge_staging.yml, wait a bit and check out if it starts failing in the status check in PRs (doesn't make a comment), and then after a few days if it looks good, tag a release a deploy to General, and disable the staging workflow again.
