dim = 3 for acoustics has now been implemented and validated against "A fast high order algorithm for multiple scattering from large sound-hard three dimensional configurations" https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0377042718306617
The capability exists but we have not yet implemented acoustics (or any other physics) in a space of dimension =\= 2. 1D would be easy, although perhaps useless; 3D looks much more complicated and may raise some errors however.
