I just played 99 years on endless mode, With several temporal rooms with lots of efficience upgrades, two of them generating more temporal rooms, and not once I saw a student going 8 years or more. I was managing student by hand, to try to get thaumaturge, so I checked all of them, I'm pretty sure the featuret is not working.
