If you export a section of a website and then import it into a new target site, any links in that content that are linking to items outside of the exported content will break.
this happens because links are stored as UDI values by Umbraco pointing to the key (GUID) of an item. if that item is so other content then the link will be broken.
What we could do on export is find all the links that are linking to items no inside the export and generate relative links for those items. on import those relative links could be recalculated for the new site and fixed within the content.
