This makes the progress interface a lot easier (imho) to understand and use, but at the same time gets rid of the progress stack concept (which we can totally reintroduce at some point in the future, but I couldn't yet figure out a consistent story for it).
Also introduces an ink-overlay, which is basically just a tooltip we can completly control.
