Simple Prefabs

Created so I can just create things ready for this week.

• What are prefabs

  1. The simplest system considering we have one week to go for saving a single object without any repeated code.
  2. 'Prefab' is a single Object saving system. You can save a single object to a file
  3. A prefab key (the file name) is saved with the scene and if the file is found then the prefab data is used for the Object not the scene data
  4. If the file isn't found then the Scene data is used instead assuming this is the data as a backup
  5. The prefab data if found is always loaded assuming this is the most upto date data as we'll be making many scenes.
  6. If you attempt to type in a prefab key which is not the prefab key you loaded and this is a valid prefab you will be warned
  7. There is validation on the prefab
  8. Only thing I didn't do is take out / maybe should leave that in for folders? I don't know.
  9. Alternative name is SingleObject storage however sounds like a mouthful.

• Changes in EditorUI:

  1. Unselects gameobject when openning and deleting object
  2. Added Popups (no button and with buttons)

• Changes in everything else

  1. LoadAllPrefabData / SaveAllPrefabData

• This is a bottom up method to load all the data at run time of the prefab

  2. LoadLocalData / SaveLocalData

• Provided we put items in here, Scene data is stored in here OR if it is set as prefab just the object maybe saved.

  3. In Some: LoadDefaults

• Just refactoring if there is a lot of defaults. Loading a prefab from another type may occur therefore it checks the key or loads default values
