[ BUG REPORT ] - Mod Deleted? #787

Closed DJShy3 closed 1 year ago

DJShy3 commented 1 year ago

Overview:

I tried to update the mod from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3, but not only did the mod not update, but it must've deleted the preexisting mod, because Natsuki is nowhere to be seen. I'm back to the usual screen for DDLC.

The exact message I get is this: download failed failed to request data request or response body error error reading a body from connection The specified data could not be decrypted. (os error -2146893008)

Replication steps:

I click on jn-installer.exe, which I got from the Github. I press 'continue' twice, and select my DDLC folder titled 'DDLC 1.1.1 pc'. I hit 'install' and after a few seconds of it trying to install, I get the above message. I hit 'okay' on the error popup, and the installer crashes and/or closes.

Additional information:

Considering I made a backup of the APPData files (but not the actual modded files), I tried again with a fresh copy, but it still didn't update (or rather, install in this case) Also I keep the game on my D Drive, not C.

We'll investigate. In the mean time, your save data will be fine: please refer to the manual installation steps here and be sure to use the correct files as noted in the instructions.

Hi @DJShy3 - I've ran some tests myself with both a clean installation from base DDLC with the installer, and moving from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3 and unfortunately I am unable to replicate your issue.

As the installer error suggests it is experiencing network difficulties (as it has to download the mod files from GitHub), can you please verify the following:

If you are still experiencing issues, you can still attempt an update manually by following the link I sent in my previous response.

Hi @DJShy3 - is this still an issue?
