UTF-8 Support #1

Hey Carmen,

Not sure if this is a problem with your module or a fault in the gendex file specification,

My lithuanian tree characters are all malformed in the txt file.

On further checking..... it seems that the file looks OK now in a browser (Chrome) however when submitted to the sites it is back to the "corrupted view"

Just to be sure. This is solved with your own patch right?

Not quite... my patch solved another problem where non english letters were not being capitalized.

I am awaiting feedback from the gendex site maintainers to see if it's a problem at their end or ours regarding the UTF-8 encoding in general.

I haven't been able to find any solution for this. I have tried all possible solutions without any success. I doubt the issue is in the module code but rather a problem of the gendex site.
