SIGSEV in Mux 7D in epgDecoder::getCData #275

Environment

Seen behaviour

Assumption: Mux 7D (rbb) EPG causes segv

Sorry, tried and failed compiling from source

Questions:

  1. Is there a possibility to switch off EPG in the appimage?
  2. What can I do to further debug?

Well have you tried to switch off the option epg to xml?

Unfortunately the RBB (as well as MDR and RB) isnot on satellite. All others (BR, SWR, HR, WDR and NDR) are and I can test them with my dish.

Looking at the offending function it is in the normal processing of EPG. Interesting error (at least for me, probably not for you) As temporary solution I uploaded AppImages for 4 and 5 that - on startup - look into the ",ini" file and if they see "epgFlag=0" the starting of EPG decoding is switched off.

Since I cannot recreate the error here, it would be nice if you can record a fragment of the input data of that channel, with that I might be able to see what data is causing the segmentation error

Jan, thank you for the quick response (and for qt-dab)! The flag seems to work - at least for now 20 minutes.

I have a 20 min recording, which at 2.4 GB is to big as an attachment. I'll send an email to your gmail with the URL I'll put the files to.

andimik, don't worry about the translation. The current version is good enough.

Thanks for the file. I thin I managed solving the issue. Apparently a misunderstanding from my side on something to do with copying strings. I uploaded in the "releases" new versions for 4 and 5. There is now one small difference between 4 and 5, on the configuration widget of 5 I added a selector for choosing automatics invocation of a handler for EPG services. The value is stored in the qt-dab.ini file (epgFlag=X, X=1 then automatic invocation of EPG handler). For the 4 version you can either set the value in the ini file manually, or just use the setting as done by the 5 version.

For your file it holds that after some time various services got their "timeTable", without any problem
