Minor code style edits #3

Suggesting some minor code style edits to make the script more pythonic (easier to read for python developers). Mostly length checks, use of context manager for file operations, and removal of C-style brackets for condition statements.

I'm actually re-doing majority of the code especially with the newest features being implemented. Most of that was rushed and since I'm used to JS I keep adding unneeded things especially with the conditional statements. I'll keep you updated. 👍
