Captions specified in Labels.txt only show up in the Module, not in the Plug-in

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. None of the lightbox Setting in the Plugin configuration does show the 
captions.
 Wether in the overlay in the article content nor in the lightbox
2. When sigplus is inserted as a module the same Labels work fine
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Captions in both types of the sigplus extension

What version of the product are you using?
Joomla! v.2.5.3 Stable
Sigplus v.1.4.2.9

This issue tracker is for sigplus 1.5.x (and later) only. sigplus 1.3.x/1.4.x, 
which are the latest version series of sigplus released officially to the 
general public, are vastly different in both design and implementation. sigplus 
versions 1.3.x/1.4.x are no longer actively developed but only maintained. As 
such, we will investigate the matter but it is likely that more information on 
this topic is necessary. The plug-in and the module versions of sigplus 
1.3.x/1.4.x use the exact same code, which makes it somewhat unlikely that a 
labels file works with the module but not with the plug-in. It appears to be a 
configuration issue instead rather than a bug in the software.
