Add README documentation #42

In the process, updated package metadata. (I hope I got the author/contributors right.)

As mentioned in #38, this should render the wiki instructions obsolete. (I do not seem to have permission to edit the wiki myself, so deprecating that page would be up to @jsterner73 or @CrazyVulcan.)

@CrazyVulcan can you give @FND the same rights on the repo as I have? he's doing a really good job and should be able to work on this project with added permissions - thanks

@jsterner73 I agree, however, @KFNEXUS is the one who can add him to the permissions.

Thanks folks, I appreciate the sentiment.

Generally speaking, I prefer someone double-checking edits anyway - so I'd probably continue to use pull requests for most things to ensure any changes are verified by a second set of eyes. Having said that, for minor stylistic adjustments, being able to push to directly to master might be convenient.
