Contrast between empty and new messages icon too low #225

The no-new-messages and new-messages icons have too low constrast between each 
other. I find it 
difficult to tell the difference, and hence, whether I have new messages.

In fact, some of the icons appear to just be copies of standard icons. Instead 
of copying them, they should be used 
via set_icon_from_name and so on.
