check to see if documentation describes some way to detect what the sensor's mounted orientation is (https://stackoverflow.com/a/15552017/2427417)
add a calibration button for each orientation
check to see if 3rd party apps claiming to be able to calibrate the accelerometer actually can, and if so, add that to crosscam (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.androgames.level&hl=en)
