Is there an existing issue for this?

Current Behavior

the client is transparent no matter the theme chose. User interface is hard to difficult as desktop icons and scree background appear through the transparent client interface.

Expected Behavior

opaque client.

Steps to reproduce

  1. I opened the flatpak app (tested via cli and launcher) on Pop_OS 22.04.
  2. Spotube launches with 50% transparent window. (maximize/restore does not change this)
  3. I cry.
  4. I write this bug report

Operating System

Pop_OS 22.04

Spotube version

v3.5.0

Installation source

Flathub (Flatpak)

Additional information

This is probably not a Spotube issue and a Window Manager issue. Check your Window Manager's transparency settings. Also upgrade to the latest version 3.6.0

Updated to 3.6.0 problem persists, Pop_OS just uses Gnome. It's your software.

Although pop_os! is just Gnome, it customizes Gnome a lot using extensions. Also, Gnome isn't the Window Manager. It's the DE. Mutter is the window manager. There's probably some wrong config that is causing Spotube's window to be transparent. Try disabling all extensions before opening Spotube to see if any extensions is causing the issue.

Edit: Log out and login after disabling the extensions btw

ah that IS useful to know thank you, but I'm unsure how to proceed in modifying Mutter.

When you say to disable all extensions do you mean Gnome extensions?

update I figured out how to disable all gnome extensions and tested, transparency still occurs.

try using wayland instead of x11 or the other way
