Android Auto doesn't load #1832

Is there an existing issue for this?

Current Behavior

Downloaded through f-droid, version 3.8 The app doesnot load when opening on Android Auto

Expected Behavior

Should work with Android Auto.

Steps to reproduce

1.Connect the device to Android head unit.

  1. Open Spotube on Android Auto head unit.
  2. The app keeps loading showing circular loading image.

Yes. It's doesnot work when connected to a Android Auto head unit. Standalone app works.

I had tried this and it failed. Let me try it again in some time.

The app only works in Android Auto if I start playing music on the phone before connecting the cable. The only actions I can perform on the Android Auto head unit is play/pause.

Same here: Android 14, Spotube nightly build 323. I now can add it to the AA launcher, can start it in AA, but no songs or controls appear. Even if I start Spotube before plugging in. Spotube on the phone only shows the logo, can't be used neither after it was started in AA. It's arguably the best music streaming app, but please, I need AA with all controls!

Happening to me now after updating it to the latest version, only shows loading animation
