Optional YouTube authentication for higher fidelity for premium users #2012

Is there an existing issue for this?

Pain

I recently got YouTube Premium from a friend when he added me to he's family. So I can now play back songs with 256 Kbps, instead of the normal 128. I read https://github.com/KRTirtho/spotube/issues/633#issuecomment-1962800128 I'm only concerned/interested about quality, nothing else. No playlist import, no subscriptions, nothing else.

Suggested solution

Only when Youtube is set as the audio source, add an "authenticate" or "sign in" button in the same place that the piped server changer usually appears and a short explanation that it would only improve audio fidelity for premium users and nothing else. 39tWZlWEdM

I personally doubt this suggestion will be accepted, due to the fact that this largely goes against part of the project's main tenants; being anonymity and no telemetry/diagnostics or other user data collection.

Hold up So you have YT premium That gives you access to YT Music without ads and with background playback. Why are you using spotube when you can use yt music? (Unless you're using last.fm for song tracking)

spotify also has a much better collection of 3rd party tools
