Esrange Space Center is a Swedish launch site near Kiruna in northern Sweden. It was built in 1964 by ESRO (which merged with ELDO in 1975 to form ESA), but is now owned and managed by the Swedish government.
Esrange is currently ESA's primary sounding rocket launch site, serving a role similar to what Wallops does to NASA, and is in the process of expanding to support high inclination (especially SSO) smallsat (up to 1t payload) launches, planned to be operational later this year.
