Tested with:

Stock shields
DRE shields
Procedural shields
Suborbital
LEO
MEO
Lunar

Zero ablation. Heatshield will get to around 1440k skin temp and then continuously transfer heat to the command pod either until entry is complete or the pod KBs (mostly KBs).

@space-is-hard could you try adding the DRE .dll manually and see if the issue persists?

This was performed with the latest install of DRE on top of modpack 4.0.8.

Vessel: Mk1-2 pod Heatshield: 4m LEO-rated Entry orbit: 300km x 25km Total heatshield ablation: 1.08 units out of 760 units available (~0.14% used) Maximum shield skin temp: ~860 kelvin

So there's ablation now, but it's almost negligible. Not sure if this is good or bad.
