Deprecate dependency on local drivers wherever possible #3
We should leave the drivers to the people in charge of maintaining them (microsoft) wherever possible. The situation may arise that microsoft has not yet created a driver for a particular instrument, in which case we will have to use a locally maintained driver.

There is a community contributed driver repository which we should in time push such drivers to.
