Speed riding icon (ski + paragliding)

Hello everybody, here is an icon proposal for speed riding. I started
designing icons for our Google Earth ski map in La Clusaz resort, but now
that I found mapicons, I will use them because they cover much more areas
than the ones I did...

Nice job so far :)

Without you going any further, please let me ask you why the landing and 
takeoff are
in green ?
Speedriding suggests any related icon should be under Sports (red).

I assume your specific needs made you create them in green.
You can keep them in green, but if you don't mind I will create red versions of
takeoff and landing.

Green color concerns only tourism & nature activities.
While Red is for physical activities.

Ok sorry, I thought takeoff and landing areas were nature areas. I've no 
specific
needs in green...

Hi again Milherou!

I think these looks very good too! In the Paragliding icon I would like to see 
the
folds in the wing better, so you see more clear that its a glide wing.  For the
Speedriding icons, what is speedriding? :-S

Please also post the Photoshop or Paint.net original with layers so we can post 
it on
the site and include it in the All Files master.

Ok, I'll modify the paragliding one. Speed riding is paragliding with skis : 
you need
to take off from and land on specific areas in the ski resorts, following flight
rules and maps.

I like the new one better!  Still, I think it can get even better, a paraglider 
has a
quite characteristic look that we should be able to capture in the icon.  I 
think it
would be better to see it from the front, not from above like now, see what I 
mean?

Love the last one!  It's a go!  You find it [SportsIcons here] now.  I took some
artistic freedoms again and edited it a bit.  First the template you are using 
is for
some reason wring.  The background should be FC6254, I'm in the process of 
updating
that in the main template.  In the icon I reduced the number of transparent 
pixels
again, made almost white 100% white, made the icon a little bit smaller, moved 
the
wing up and added legs to the pilot.  Hope you are OK with it.  You are of cause
credited for it.

For the Speedriding icons there are a few things that I want to change then 
they are
done as well.  First, change the background in your template to FC6254. Second 
add
the folding to the wing, like in the paragliding icon.  Third add a small arrow
pointing up for take off and down for landing...  Please don't take me feedback 
bad,
you have great talent in this, more than me actually, but I'm quite good at the
visual part. If you continue you will soon learn how me and Nico think when
designing, we have learned a lot designing more than 900 icons.  So, keep up the
great work Milherou!

I'm not angry, your advices are welcome. They were not legs because my 
paraglider had
his legs in a bag (you can fly with legs outside or sitting inside a bag)

I am kinda lost in this topic, the only thing I am thinking now is : how will we
design parachuting/skydiving ?

The paragliding Matthias did, with the legs, seems to be a skydiving to me, too.
