Same situation here. Any update soon?
Joining the crowd. In my case, I am not able to install a number of applications such as mod-host due to the unavailability of libreadline7 in a fresh install of Ubuntu mate 20.04 (the current release of the library is libreadline8). Thanks for maintaining KXStudio.
Looks like libreadline7 is present in the ppa, but it has a weird version string (0~7.0-3) which prevents it from satisfying the dependency of >=6.0 for mod-host
Hello everyone,
I would be in urgent need of the updated jackd2 1.9.14 for Ubuntu Studio 20.04, and especially along with that, the updated libffado (firewire) driver from KXStudio, but can't figure how to get this done. The 1.9.12 delivered with Ubuntu Studio plain doesn't work, and I also have some difficulty to operate 1.9.14 stable under most current 18.04, because on JACK startup there seems to be some race condition or the like, and JACK crashes frequently until after some attempts (including reconnecting the FW device) it decides to start and runs fully stable from then on. (Something to blame Ubuntu Studio makers for, I know.) When trying to import the versions from the 18.04 "bionic" repo straightforward into 20.04, it fails some dependencies (libreadline7 not present in 20.04), so I can't use this.
Are you planning to update the PPA for use with 20.04? Any additional hints for stable startup welcome... thanks and kind regards
