Not a bug perse. Wireshark is a complex and powerful piece of software, all users should read the wiki manual as to how to use it. https://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/CapturePrivileges#Most_UNIXes https://www.wireshark.org/docs/wsug_html/#ChCapPrerequisitesSection An install message can be added to warn that you must add wireshark to your users, but then the install message cannot contain the entire wiki as to how to use.
