Is there any possibility to enable wifi on this laptop under osx? Have you changed internal wifi card to do that?

Kaijun commented 10 years ago

@Majkwin it's not possible to make the original wifi card work under osx :cry: but it's totally easy to replace the wifi card with one which could be supported by osx. (but notice the bluetooth is integrated in the wifi card) there's no such kind of white-list as any other venders such as Lenovo :smile: there're also many suggestions of wifi cards on the internet.

Majkwin commented 10 years ago

Can You tell me which card did you buy? I should seach for a one with integrated bluetooth, right?

And can You write something about overall impressions about hackintosh on this laptop? Would you recomend installing OSX on Acer, or maybe buy an Apple machine? Is it very complicated to install it?

Kaijun commented 10 years ago

i couldn't tell if you should choose a hackintoshable laptop or Apple machine, because it depends on many factors, your personal perspectives... it's too subjective, that i can't recommend anything.

but now OSX works totally smoothly and stably on my laptop, except some little issues and bugs.

the installation is not that easy and not that difficult. you should learn some basic hackintosh knowledge at first, and i provided all the files, with which you needn't to do more explorations.

Majkwin commented 10 years ago

And all this files are compatible with mavericks?

Kaijun commented 10 years ago

ofc, and compatible with yosemite beta

Majkwin commented 10 years ago

Can you tell me which wifi card should I buy to replace atheros one without any problems?

Kaijun commented 10 years ago

@Majkwin i'm using BCM4322 which has no bluetooth module. and i also don't know if you could buy it somewhere in your country.

Majkwin commented 10 years ago

Thanks for your reply. I just bought a BCM94322HM8L chip. I hope it will work out of the box

ghost commented 10 years ago

BCM943225HMB WIfi+BT - worked for me

Kaijun commented 10 years ago

@virusak good suggestion!

Majkwin commented 10 years ago

Will it be compatible with "handsoff" function and continuity on yosemite?

sry i have no idea, @virusak could probably have a try

ghost commented 10 years ago

I haven't tried yosemite yet, so I don't know. First of all we need to fix shutdown issue than think about yosemite

Hi,

I have the AzureWave CE123H with BT + BCM4352. Works fine for me but unfortunately not out of the box. What I did is to add the following to my config.plist right under the KextsToPatch tag: ...

Comment Broadcom Apple patch Find axAAAA+F Name AirPortBrcm4360 Replace axAAAA+E
        <dict>
            <key>Comment</key>
            <string>Broadcom Apple patch</string>
            <key>Find</key>
            <data>
            MGsQAAB1
            </data>
            <key>Name</key>
            <string>AirPortBrcm4360</string>
            <key>Replace</key>
            <data>
            MGsQAAB0
            </data>
        </dict>
        <dict>
            <key>Comment</key>
            <string>Broadcom 5Ghz patch</string>
            <key>Find</key>
            <data>
            AVhUAA==
            </data>
            <key>Name</key>
            <string>AirPortBrcm4360</string>
            <key>Replace</key>
            <data>
            AVVTAA==
            </data>
        </dict>

... Additionally, I added the BTFirmwareUploader.kext version 2.5.2 to the clover kext folder. The driver I used can be found here: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2925-bluetooth-firmware-uploader/

Kaijun commented 10 years ago

what do you mean it doesn't work out of box? what kind of wifi card is it?

Majkwin commented 10 years ago

@virusak, with BCM943225HMB You had to edit some files or something?

wilsoxu commented 9 years ago

Hi all,

Do any of you have the problem of your wifi not being able to turn on after you sleep and wakeup the laptop?

Kaijun commented 9 years ago

@wilsoxu right, sometimes it happens actually, but very rarely i would say. I just met this problem only twice more or less after i'm using OSX for more than one year.

But i found a solution: Boot into Windows and toggle your wifi several times. Then reboot to OSX and generally it will fix.

Have a try and let me know if it works indeed.
