Quick questions HOI4 version: 1.10.4 Kaiserreich version: 0.16.1, public, beta

Describe the change you would like:

Explain the reasoning behind this change:

  1. See #13867
  2. See #13867 as well; also, Reservfördelning divisions have less equipment than Fördelning divisions, and even less than the garrison divisions.
  3. See #13893
  4. SWE_reassure_big_businesses, according to the loc files, is not a measurement for the 1936 elections, but a separate thing.
  5. SWE_adress_peoples_pleas, however, is a measurement for the 1936.
  6. The loc files does not imply nor state that SWE_agricultural_reforms is a measurement for the 1936 elections.
  7. See 4.~6.
  8. The focus's name and description implies that the coalition party should have its popularity increased as well as the SocDems.
  9. SWE_idea_true_folkhemmet, which is available for Totalist/Syndicalist/RadSoc Sweden, has no consumer goods malus.
  10. This is more of a common sense - SocCon SWE could take SWE_protectionist_economy focus and end up cucking themselves.
  11. This is a long story, but the tl;dr is:
    • The loc file says that they are trading generals from each other.
    • Erik Leschly starts as a level 2 general in Denmark.
    • Holmquist and Douglas are the two Swedish generals that can reform the Swedish Army via focuses and therefore should stay in Sweden.
    • Similarly, Fleischer and Ruge, the two generals that can reform the Norwegian Army via focuses, should stay in Norway as well.
  12. This would make sense, as the SocDems literally formed a coalition with RadSocs.
  13. Abdicating the Head of State is no simple matter that can be cancelled during the process.
  14. This sounds like a bit of a stretch, but considering that Sweden can invade Finland, which Sweden historically had but cannot core, invading Estonia and Latvia is reasonable.
  15. If Germany decides to let Sweden join the Reichspakt (and Mitteleuropa by extension) even after they left Mitteleuropa, "Trade War" (malus) should be gone, as Sweden will officially be part of Germany's economic sphere.
  16. "Opposition Victory" (focus) and "Conservative Victory" (focus), which are the focuses SWE player/AI can take after the results of the 1936 Elections are finished, are also 7 days long.
  17. GEO's "A Referendum on the Monarchy" (focus) is also 21 days long.
  18. This is more of a bug report than a suggestion.
  19. His brother (Gösta Ehrensvärd) is already available as an admiral of Sweden, regardless of him being the co-ruler of Sweden.
  20. HoS (or soon-to-be HoS) becoming FM in Kaiserreich is quite common, as long as they had adequate military education; GER has Wilhelm III as FM, BAT's FM can become HoS of NatPop BAT, BEL's HoS Adalbert is also a Field Marshal, and so on.
  21. See 20.
  22. See loc file of swe.25 (event).
  23. Unless Sweden only has SocDems as the left-wing, only lowering SocDem's popularity does not make any sense.
  24. The current GFX uses the Catholic cross of EU4, and unless Kaiserreich's PoD is in the 16th Century, the GFX should use the Protestant cross of EU4 instead.
  25. See 20.
  26. Axel Gyllenkrok becomes Colonel in 1937 OTL, which is most likely the year when he becomes available as HoG, only to resign in 1938 due to his misconduct. If, however, he becomes HoG, he would be influential enough to "convince" his promotion.
  27. See 20.
  28. The neighboring Nordic countries, all of which have smaller industrial capacities, start with 1936 rifles, so in order to balance things out, Sweden must have 1936 rifles as well. Yes, Gevär m/38 (the current 1936 rifles of Sweden in hoi4 kr) is technically a 1938 rifle, but 1936 rifles in hoi4 in general are the most advanced bolt-action rifles that are for the standard infantry (not for snipers and such), which is also the case for Japan, and sometimes are automatic rifles, which is the case for Russia. Also,
  29. Other nations' army-related focuses give army xp's as well (if not army xp's and pp's at the same time).
  30. The focus's name and the description refers to Sweden's 1942 infantry equipment Automatgevär m/42.
  31. SWE_douglas_plan's coding intends to give bonus to motorized/mechanized: if = { limit = { NOT = { has_tech = motorised_infantry } } add_tech_bonus = { name = SWE_douglas_plan bonus = 2 uses = 1 technology = motorised_infantry }
  32. Strv m/41 is Swedish licenced version of TNH (variant of LT vz. 38), a Czechslovakian tank.
  33. Even though this focus is fixed (see #13868 ), it would be better off for Sweden player/AI to have them from the beginning instead, as they need more screens to cover up their 9 cruisers they begin with, even though they are coastal defense ships. Also, hoi4 AI has a bad habit of deleting ongoing naval productions, so giving them the ships right away can prevent the AI being AI.
  34. Forcing a player to have bonuses in a certain doctrine without any alternatives given in general results in railroading and playing Sweden less enjoyable.
  35. Sweden (or any other countries, for that matter) uses the ship's name as the ship class's name, especially for capital ships.
  36. Swedish ships' prifix is HMS (Hans/Hennes Majestäts Skepp).
  37. Usually, by the time player takes this focus, it would be at least 1938, if not later, and by then, they would have researched Marines 1 and researching Marines 2 in order to use bonuses on Marines 3. Forcing players to take a focus before researching a specific technology results in railroading and playing Sweden less enjoyable.
  38. Forcing players to take a focus before researching a specific technology results in railroading and playing Sweden less enjoyable.
  39. Forcing players to give up either the navy or the air force results in railroading and playing Sweden less enjoyable. Also, even smaller countries such as Greece can focus on both the navy and the air force.
  40. The current loc for SWE_navy_supremacy (focus) and SWE_airforce_supremacy (focus) implies that only one can be chosen over the another.
  41. See 37. but replace "marines" with "paratroopers."
  42. Sweden only starts with 5 military factories.
  43. Producing 2 capital ships, especially coastal defense ships, when having only 15 screens but 9 capital ships (all of which are coastal defense ships as well), is not a good idea at best, and a waste of naval productions at worst.
  44. This is more of a quality of life improvement - some newer players may forget to separate submarines from surface fleets, which ends up slowing down the entire fleet, as the fleet's speed equals the slowest vessel's speed (at least in hoi4).
  45. Having less research slots compared to their less developed Scandinavian neighbors just does not make any sense and will result in Sweden being less enjoyable compared to Denmark, Norway, and even base game Sweden (for some players).
  46. Sweden starts with motorized equipment so it would make sense for them to have motorized divisions as well.

Additional context or comments:

  1. Scandinavia is a beast of its own and will have its suggestions written should I am not burnt out.
  2. I was thinking about adding GER refusing to let SWE to join the Reichspakt should they implement tariffs, but I did not, because BUL can join the Reichspakt by tariffing the entire Reichspakt as well.
  3. There are many things cut out from this suggestion, as they belong to other tags.
  4. Good luck to whoever is assigned to this suggestion. I hope you enjoy fixing Sweden as much as I enjoyed writing this.

Additional context or comments:

  1. Some of the "suggestions" are actually bugs I found, but decided to use "Suggestion" as the main label because there are more suggestions than bugs, or at least I think so. I'd appreciate it if anyone with edit permissions to add "Bug" label as well.
