Independent Malaya should have an option to rename George Town and Jesselton if they own North Borneo which they would do if they resent their former overlords enough or if the Japanese do as part of de-westernization. Brunei should also be renamed to Bandar Brunei since Brunei could refer to either the sultanate or historical empire
@Jacklop111 Malay Endonyms are already available in-game actually, I'll see if I can get the rest implemented soon
Describe the specific change you would like:
(Additional description if a Japanese puppet) Much to the ire of many in the Malay states, he was appointed Yang di-Pertuan Agong by the Japanese administration, possibly due to his friendship with Tokugawa Yoshichika, his meek nature or both. He reluctantly accepted the position despite his age and desire to stay out of the limelight domestically. His friend has a grand vision for a unified Malaya with Sultan Ibrahim at the helm which may finally be realised.
He could also be an option for an elected ruler if Insulandia takes that option after the Sultan's coup since OTL he was offered the position of the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Another option could be Abdul Rahman of Negeri Sembilan since OTL, the idea of a rotating monarchy is inspired by Negeri Sembilan's elective monarchy.
Yusof bin Ishak description: Born 12 August 1910 Terong, Klian Pauh, Perak, Federated Malay States
A journalist by profession, Yusof bin Ishak was the eldest son in a family of nine. Yusof began his career as a journalist and went into partnership with two other friends to publish, Sportsman, a sports magazine devoted entirely to sports. In 1932, Yusof joined Warta Malaya, a well-known newspaper during that time. Warta Malaya was heavily influenced by developments in the Middle East and Yusof wanted a newspaper dedicated to Malay issues. He was eventually successful with the establishment of the newspaper Utusan and developed a cult-like following in Singapore and to a lesser extent the rest of the states.
Notes: His brother is the notable militant Abdul Aziz bin Ishak who unlike his brother is an enigmatic character in all except his desire to see the Malay mainland liberated and some rumours for it to be under the same banner as the archipelago. He has also had a less successful journalistic career than his brother and is more well known for his spats with the German administration.
Tunku Abdul Rahman description:
Born: Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah. 8 February 1903 Istana Tia Tangga, Alor Setar, Kedah Sultanate, Siam
Resourceful: Production efficiency cap +2%, infractructure construction speed +5%, consumer goods -3% Popular figure: +5% stability, political power gain +0.10
The seventh son and one of 45 children of Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah of Kedah, Tunku Abdul Rahman never really had any real chance of becoming sultan. Having a few of his sibilings die from cholera and malaria, he left for London in 1920 to study. He kicked up a political firestorm by angering his brother and regent Tunku Ibrahim by marrying a non-Malay woman without prior permission from either him or the Sultan. However the regent's fury was silenced with his death and his replacement approved of the marriage.
His stints on Langkawi drew the attention of many as he was denied funds from the colonial office to develop the archipelago which lacked even proper roads. Ever-resourceful, Tunku's genius in winning co-operation from members of the public of all communities led to the construction of a jetty and later to the opening of several earth roads using money and material which he collected.
Now finding himself at the forefront of a newly independent and developing Malaya, it remains to be seen if he can emulate his local successes on a national scale.
Insulandia should have an option to reclaim Pattani and other Malay states from Siam given that they are not part of the same faction. If so, Insulandia could try to ask for Japan's backing
