Currently if ITA goes to war against either SRI (Syndie Italy), SRD (Sardinia) and/or SIC (Sicily) it is force to fight to the bitter end against, which ever faction it faces.
I suggest something similar to when it allies with Switzerland, where if ITA capitulates, it has the option of pulling the pin (so to speak) and white peace out.
I only suggest this as currently the Italian scenario essentially "Highlander" with a "There can only be one scenario" occurring. It's fun if you just want to keep at war, but I do proposal diplomatic options are available to either allow for a peaceful forming of Italy or keeping the status quo.
