Describe the change you would like: Two things 1 -

• If ENG annexes IRE outright, there are IRA bombings, rallies and a national spirit. This should also apply (to the same extent) if GBR decides to occupy all of IRE again.

2 -

• The three options after annexing IRE are described as

A - "The has come for direct rule once again" - annexation, w/ no claims/cores outside of Ulster. B - "We will grand them limited self-government" - Ulster is annexed, the rest is puppeted. C - "The Irish Free State will be given home rule" - Ulster is annexed, the rest is made an independent member of the Entente.

The end results of these three should all be the same, but the wording adjusted - A - no change B - "Southern Ireland will be granted Home Rule" (with puppeted IRE now called Southern Ireland) C - "The Irish Free State will join the Commonwealth" (with independent IRE now called Irish Free State)

• Canada etc should change the Union Jack in their flag if the restored UK renounces all claims to Northern Ireland.

Explain the reasoning behind this change: 1 - the IRA bombing events and national spirit are meant to represent the underlying Republicanism/anti-British-imperialism that was rampant in the country, since the War of Independence in 1920 or even 1916. Ireland fought for its independence less that 20 years previous and in some ways is defined by it. The fact that the British want to take over Ireland again is what is the reasoning behind these events/spirits, with the difference between being either British Syndicalists, or British Monarchists irrelevant - the fact is that they're back, and not wanted.

2 - This is purely nomenclature from a historical perspective. Pretty minor, but would be easy to change.

A - It's good as it is.

B - "Home Rule", is a historical idea from the 1800s, and proposed a system where Ireland was to remain part of the UK (so the UK flag would stay the same), but have its own government in charge of internal affairs, but no control on foreign relations or policy - these things were covered by Westminster. This is accurately enough portrayed by the puppeting mechanic (though a collab govt from La Resistance would be even better, as Ireland would be red on the map).

During the OTL War of Independence, "Southern Ireland" is what the British used to describe the Home Rule parliament that they set up outside of Northern Ireland. It was ignored by the provisional govt of the Republic, and done away with entirely in the OTL/KRTL Anglo-Irish treaty, but in British nomenclature it would be perfect to describe the above.

C - OTL, the Irish Free State was a member of the Commonwealth, of equal status with Canada. Notably, neither the 32-county Republic ingame, or the current 26 county Republic is/was a member of the Commonwealth. So an independent IRE without NI that is in the same faction should be called the Irish Free State.

3 - self-explanatory. If the UK changes its flag, it makes sense for Canada and West Indies and Australasia etc to do the same.

Additional context or comments:

• I can understand if 1 this is not done to an extent, simply for the fact that GBR has a hell of a lot of debuffs as it is. But it should at least be mentioned, or some smaller hit be taken, as it should be just as difficult for GBR to deal with as it is ENG.

• Also I have no idea who is involved in the Ireland rework, or at what stage it is at, but I am very interested in giving further input (even if it's ignored lol), as I've a pretty good grasp of the history, and am decent with the game mechanics. I understand the power of the tag needs to be nerfed a bit, but the great lore / detail that's there already could be added to even more, even if the buffs aren't as big. Would be great if I could get involved in any way, even for suggestions! (cough.. Arthur Griffith should be alive.. cough)

I gave GBR access to the same events as ENG, wrt the IRA, and changed the GBR event text. I doubt we're going to go and change all the flags, however.

Hey I've another one.. I'll make a new post probably, not sure if this is still looked at.

But anyway

• Ireland joins Entente by asking Canada
• GBR restored by Canada
• GBR decides to invade Ireland for the Ulster question
• GBR text events give no reference to Ireland being already in the same faction. Still attacks, with text the same as if Ireland was not in any faction.

Ireland is still in the Entente, but this is not recognised in any of the GBR events. It says "Ireland is without allies". I imagine if GBR is head of the Entente it could simply kick them to invade anyway, but either way, Ireland's previous membership of the Entente is ignored in any of the text.
