4 years ago While we might give Rhodesia some love. We will certainly take care to avoid a lot of the more controversial stuff. The African team has seen this post so I will close it now.
When the time comes that MittelAfrika is reworked there ought to be events about how the British White African settlers like Ian Smith resist German colonial policies across the border. Have Rhodesians smuggle arms to Northern Rhodesia (Our Zambia) or have the settlers in Kenya resist as well. Then given enough events allow an option for Rhodesia to have a UDI and declare independence for having responsible government in their own timeline. No doubt there would be tremendous hatred from the British settlers against their German (or German aligned, in the case of Southern Rhodesia) overlords for slaughtering so many of their countrymen. Include some lore about how Rhodesians achieved particular gallantry during the Weltkrieg. Then, have all this stuff affect the breakup of MittelAfrika. Perhaps we could even allow a Settler State to emerge from Kenya as one of the options upon breakup. Then naturally South West Africa ought to have a path to reclaim all of MittelAfrika.
This adds more flavor and realism to MittelAfrika. Portugal and Germany already engage in border wars so a lot of the British Settler stuff can be added in similarly. In OTL The Rhodesians and South Africans supported allied African groups against their enemies. I think that at minimum many of these changes could even be added without a lot of work on the part of the developers. A lot of the fanbase would adore just having the Rhodesians and Ian Smith affect MittelAfrika period, let alone giving Rhodesia a possible UDI (although fans would LOVE that too)
