GER - 'A New Reichskanzler?' never fires #9502

Quick questions OS: Windows HOI4 version: up to date Kaiserreich version: up t odate List any other mods used: toolpack Were you using Steam? ye Were you in multiplayer? n Which expansions do you NOT have? la resistance and the oil buggery

gerdom.30 is not firing. this event is supposed to activate after the 1937 elects where the DkP have defended their majority, thereby causing a need for a new chancellor or to keep Papen. This is the event that allows us to get either Bruning or Kurt von Schleicher in, so it's a pretty important event.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open up Germany

  2. Faff about for a bit until the 1937 election

  3. Elect the AutDem/DkP

  4. No profit. The event will not fire.

Possible cause: God hates von Schleicher and taunts him with being so close to unlimited power and being held so far.

but really there's probably a defective line in there somewhere.

Have you completed either Restore the Bundesrat or Finalise Centralisation? If so, then this means the Kaiser loses his power to appoint PMs, and thus Schleicher is unavailable.

ah, that's what that does? had no idea it did that. yeah, i did finalise centralisation before the event popped off.

This is WAD, then - doing the government reforms before the election removes the ability to appoint the Reichskanzler, which is now tied directly to the elected party.
