Wiki update #18

There are some descriptions on the wiki that are not too informative.

  1. For example, in the Mirror Shield it says "-is able to reflect projectiles!" but in-game it says "Reflects Magical Projectiles!" What exactly means "magic projectiles"? Minecraft Vanilla doesn't have mobs that shoot projectiles that deal magical damage; witches throw debuffs or generic damage, and Blazes deal fire-type damage. And there's not one of the new mobs from the mod that changes it. And the thing about "reflect", it just work like a normal shield, the only difference is that the arrows bounce a bit (like 1.5 blocks ahead) rather than stick in the shield.

  2. Another example, the Lightning Arrows. Wiki says, "They deal 1.5 hearts of damage unless striking an enemy in the water, in which case they will deal around 5", but they deal the same damage whether the mob is in the water or not. A normal zombie needs 2 full-charged shoots to kill, even if it is underwater, swimming, or it's raining in normal difficulty. There isn't anything like an animation, particle, or sound to let you know that you are shooting a buffed arrow. And it doesn't summon thunderbolts when there's a thunderstorm; it doesn't matter where you shoot, in which gamemode you are, or the gamerules you have.

  3. Another one, about the Goron Tunic, on the wiki says, "Be careful as it takes damage whilst on lava or on fire," but in-game you can even swim in lava!. You don't receive damage if you step on magma blocks or a fire block, and if I can make a suggestion here, I recommend making the earrings resistant to magma blocks, and the Goron Tunic just makes you put off the burning state faster. In Ocarina of Time, you die if you touch lava, even if you're wearing the Goron Tunic. The Goron Mask is the only one that currently works in the original game, but it's kind of OP.

BTW: Locked Doors can be opened with redstone, like a normal iron door.

Thank you for the constructive feedback! As the only developer I do not get a lot of time to actually play around with the mod so feedback like this is incredibly helpful.

1: On the wiki this has been cleared up to include what projectiles it deflects and the tag that handles what it can reflect. The description has also been updated on the item to be a bit more clear. To reiterate what the wiki says though, the Mirror Shield is not made to reflect physical projectiles, instead reflecting things like Potions, Fireballs, and Wither Skulls. As of version 1.2.2. I have included the Balanced Mirror Shield that is able to reflect all manner of projectiles.

2: The Lightning Arrows did actually strike lightning! This would only occur when struck on an entity in the rain or during a storm. This was not clearly indicated, so this has been changed to just summon lightning wherever the player may end up shooting an arrow if it were in rain/thunder weather. The item's description has also been adjusted to include it needs a clear view of the sky to summon lightning. Just for fun this GIF was recorded in version 1.2.0, showcasing that it does work, just not in the way you were perhaps expecting. thunder arrow

3: This was actually some old information and has changed. Originally the tunic did take damage whilst in lava/on fire but I had changed it as it wasn't very fun to use. This information has been changed on the wiki to match how it currently functions. In terms of it being immune to lava, making you immune to fire in Minecraft just doesn't seem very useful to me. If that were the case I would say the Zora Tunic would outshine the Goron one in almost all aspects. While not accurate it was made with the intent on being more fun and useful to use.

4: Thank you for this! Locked Doors have been fixed as of version 1.2.2.
