Setting for disabling ticker text in notifications #129

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

gTalkSMS has a tendency to produce quite a few notifications whenever things go
wrong (or even when things go right).

The trouble is, whenever I get a notification, the statusbar is filled with
whichever status message currently is active, hiding things I need, such as my
clock, battery info or information about wifi connectivity.

Compared to seeing that info, I don't find for instance the message
"Connecting..." to be of more value to me.

In addition, the color of the status icon shows me what the connectivity level
is, so the text is a bit redundant.

That should establish the motivation behind the following feature request:

It'd be nice with an option to completely disable all ticker text on the
notifications.

Additional informations:
GTalkSMS version = 2.1
Android OS version = 2.2
Phone model = HTC Hero
