delsms:last is not working on Motorola Droid 3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Receive text message(s) on phone
2. Receive text message(s) via GTalkSMS
3. Send command "delsms:last"
4. Receive confirmation from GTalkSMS "1 SMS deleted."
5. Last text message still present (all messages seem intact)

What is the expected output?
Latest text message be deleted

What do you see instead?
Nothing

Additional information:
Phone model: Droid 3

Me neither. Given the fact that the access to the SMS storage happens via an 
undocumented API it may be because of a manufacturer modification.

@OP Do you use a stock ROM or some custom mod?
