No maps with DEFAULT_TILE_SOURCE

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a MapView
2. Choose DEFAULT_TILE_SOURCE as tilesource for the map
3. No map will be displayed

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A map should be displayed, but instead of maptiles i only see a grey grid. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I tested OSM-library 3.0.8and 4.0 on Android 4.1.2

Please provide any additional information below.

Logcat gives this output:
01-20 14:29:09.448: 
W/org.osmdroid.tileprovider.modules.MapTileDownloader(14138): Problem 
downloading MapTile: /14/8644/5291 HTTP response: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden
