🌀 Summary of Fan "Operation During Occupied" Logic

• RESVVT (Residential VVT):
  • CYCLING: The fan turns on and off as needed.

• DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air System):
  • No fan schedule found:
  • Any system served by the DOAS has CONTINUOUS operation:
    • CONTINUOUS
  • Else:
    • INTERMITTENT
  • Fan schedule exists: CONTINUOUS

• PTAC, HP, UVT (Packaged Terminal Units, Heat Pumps, Unit Ventilators):

  1. No minimum outdoor airflow defined:

     • CYCLING: The fan cycles on and off based on occupancy.

  2. Minimum outdoor airflow schedule exists:

     • If no minimum outdoor airflow schedule found:

     • CONTINUOUS: The fan runs continuously.

     • If only minimum outdoor airflow schedule exists:

     • Inspect the hourly values in the minimum outdoor airflow schedule:

       • If any value = 0: CYCLING
       • All values > 0: CONTINUOUS

     • If both fan schedule and minimum outdoor airflow schedule exist:

     • Compare hourly values from both schedules:

       • If min airflow = 0 and fan schedule is active (1 or -999) at any hour:
       • CYCLING
       • Otherwise: CONTINUOUS
