KartoffelToby / better_thermostat

This custom component for Home Assistant will add crucial features to your climate-controlling TRV (Thermostatic Radiator Valves) to save you the work of creating automations to make it smart. It combines a room-temperature sensor, window/door sensors, weather forecasts, or an ambient temperature probe to decide when it should call for heat and automatically calibrate your TRVs to fix the imprecise measurements taken in the radiator's vicinity.

The "0" that has been used in the field "Tolerance" which is at the bottom of the first page when you try to Install a new Better Home Assistant TRV entity

Not the other option to do some lightweight edits to the config using the alternate menu.

Never the less, this may be a crude solution for some of you to install another TRV, but no good if you rely on the internal temperature sensor, Which appears to have vanished as an option) or if an automation as in my case polls the TRV's that I have to establish whether the TRV has returned to "Idle State" from an other state eg heating.

Simon

I don't get what this value really means, which unit it should represent or how to use it correctly... And i do not find any documentation for it :/... Can someone please explain me the meaning of this new option?

To have a tolerance when the TRV should switch back to heat. For example you have 21 degrees temperature and a target also of 21. If you set tolerance to 0.5 then BT will wait until 20.5 to put the TRV to heat.

Would you know the value when I set this to be empty in order to workaround the data input issue? So would "0" mean immediate heat?

Yes if you set it to 0 it means heat will happen immediately.

I'm using this like this on some BT and some I have set to 0.3.
