This custom component for Home Assistant will add crucial features to your climate-controlling TRV (Thermostatic Radiator Valves) to save you the work of creating automations to make it smart. It combines a room-temperature sensor, window/door sensors, weather forecasts, or an ambient temperature probe to decide when it should call for heat and automatically calibrate your TRVs to fix the imprecise measurements taken in the radiator's vicinity.
Because the Tado TRV calibrates after each offset setting, this causes excessive battery consumption and more noise. In the current BT version, offset calibration is performed even if the external thermometer reading is higher than the TRV's set temperature, which seems redundant.
A useful optional setting would be to disable offset calibration if the target temperature is lower than the current temperature reading from external thermometer.
I kinda agree with this. I am not sure about the battery impact but I have also realized that the better thermostat causes my TRV to turn back and forth often because of the offsets.
What is the feature?
