The shading I had added on the petz before was because minetest had no builtin entity shading. Now that minetest does, my shading looks weird for new clients because the new entity shading overrides my shading.
I suggest that meanwhile all clients that can, should upgrade to 5.3-dev. Gradually, shading like that will be lessened until everything is 5.3 compatible.
