The original intent was to follow Jason regarding copyright and licensing. I'm happy with MIT license if that makes people more comfortable using it though.
Looks like Jason just has a no copyright file in the repo and that's about it. I'd prefer the MIT license for this since it's more clear that we aren't responsible for any damages the code might do.
Others have expressed interest in using the onetech source for their own projects. It would be nice to add a license to make it clear it is free to use.
I plan to add an MIT license file, is that alright @Kazetsukai?
