Allow date change for Sun feature

What should this feature enhancement do?
Allow another time line in the sun feature to allow changing the date 
through the whole year.

Are there any known workarounds that produce the similar results?
Change system date of computer.

The ability to programmatically set the virtual clock in your earth instance 
should solve this feature request - merging into issue #396
