WMP 11 - turning monitors back on #2

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
This seems to work, except when I'm using WMP 11. It does pause WMP, and
it does turn off the monitors, but within a second or two, the monitors
come back on.

This doesn't happen if I don't run WMP, the monitors then go off and stay
off until user action takes place.

Ok, played with this some more. Just to clarify:

1) Open wmp and do nothing. Lock machine. Turns off monitors.
2) Open wmp and play something. Lock machine. Turns off monitors, pauses wmp,
and
monitors comes back on.
3) Open wmp, play something, and pause it. Lock machine. Turns off monitors,
UNpauses wmp! and monitors comes back on. This one completely defeats the
intent.

I dont have the problem with monitor coming back on.

however, I am experiencing the same 'UNPAUSE wmp' situation! I am so glad you
noticed
it too, are you going to fix it? looking forward.

Actually I noticed this problem when visualization is active in WMP. Have you
tried
disable visualization and tried ?

Anyhow I am working on this bug.

jbperry's problem is appearing with my win7/wmp11 now with the 1.0b version.
1) Open wmp and do nothing. Lock machine. Turns off monitors.
2) Open wmp and play something. Lock machine. Turns off monitors, pauses wmp,
and
MONITOR COMES BACK ON.
3) Open wmp, play something, and pause it. Lock machine. Turns off monitors.

Now my temporary solution is uncheck 'automatic pause media', then working fine
with
'automatic turns off monitor, and mute'. By the way, I don't have any
visualization on.

Thanks @walkcoolboyli for the update. Let me try your temporary solution and
will try
to find the root cause.
