Hello! Best rewritten from scratch, is not C # and not on DH9 (11). Check the https://github.com/KeenSoftwareHouse/SpaceEngineers/issues/9 PS: Sorry for the bad language, translate GoogleTranslate. My language Ukrainian (Russian).
Thanks @KiberBorg ...The language is pretty fine...no problems. So do we need to rewrite the renderer part? Because the others I think can work in Linux?
I think that yes. Detail I have not looked. While I have no Linux. I think you have to decide: 1) source code -> Wine. 2) source code -> Wine -> Linux native. 3) source code -> Linux native.
@KiberBorg many thanks for the answer. I was thinking of option 3. However honestly its a huge code base. I was thinking of starting from one area...I first wanted to port the Vrage engine. However is the source code for Vrage native available? Does it work with Linux?
As Kiber said, you can find answers to many of your questions already in #9 , which this issue could become a duplicate of. You might also want to explore the repository sources first, you will find Vrage there. For deeper questions, you might want to visit the forums.
@g4borg Thanks I will close this issue as duplicate (or you may too). I know VRage is there in the repo, library, renderer etc. But is the native code (dll) also in this repo. Okay I will check
Can we please leave this to #9 (close as duplicate issue, also, technically invalid)
Here's a response from one of the developers about the current issues standing in the way of a Linux port: https://github.com/KeenSoftwareHouse/SpaceEngineers/issues/9#issuecomment-168501693
But as it was said, this issue is a duplicate, please close it
Many thanks for the brilliant open source games. I have a few noob questions. What do I need to do to use Space Engineers in Linux? Can Space Engineers use MonoGame? If not what is the effort to switch to MonoGame and develop this in Linux?
Regards
