Alternitavely, is it possible to split the roles of pointing and contextualisation? Ie the box always stays rooted in the middle, and some indicator points to elements?
I’m not sure it would be clear where it was pointing, especially when there ares several buttons close together. Personally I think it’s good that it moves to the elements, it just feels like completing the tutorial is hard work.

Hmm possibly, lose track of the arrow on the screen? I feel it may be much less annoying on smaller screened devices
When using the tutorial view, the messages appear in such an order that the user must move their mouse cursor between opposite corners of the screen several times. I realise that the tutorial can be advanced using the arrow keys, but that might not be immediately obvious to all users (and won't help when using mobile devices). I suggest that the messages are reordered so that the they move across the screen in one general direction wherever possible. (This might also make the order more logical for a few messages.) e.g. FAQ, About, Upload, Home, Files, Logout
