Hide tools when no file selected #46

It seems counter-intuitive that one can select a tool without first selecting a file, I suggest that the 'simple view' navigation bar (home, FAQ, about) be shown if there is no active file.

Sounds like a good idea, or maybe prevent them from selecting a tool and prompt the user to select a file first, as if there selecting a tool before selecting a file they probably don't have a good idea of how to use the app. This might be something we need to work out from more extensive user testing.
