Hi, did you configured your trackad configuration to use gestures with 2 and 3
fingers with Touchégg??
http://code.google.com/p/touchegg/issues/detail?id=171#c7
Try to execute these commands and restart Touchégg please.
Greetings!

I had to reboot after I installed from source. Every change I do only work
after a reboot. Have you tried to reboot?

I have the same problem, it doesn't work. I tried to disable synaptic
gestures,alos tried to modify te code of unity to erase GeisAdapter()...
But I am stuck.
If I run touchegg, appears
Try to make a multitouch gesture. If everything goes well the information about
the gesture must appear
[+] Avaliable gesture:
Name -> Flick
[+] Avaliable gesture:
Name -> Drag
[+] Avaliable gesture:
Name -> Pinch
[+] Avaliable gesture:
Name -> Rotate
[+] Avaliable gesture:
Name -> Tap
[+] Avaliable gesture:
Name -> Touch
but it doesn't recognise any gesture...
I used to be an excited user of touchegg before upgrading to Precise :(

Hi!
The changes of execute this command are temporal, after reboot all become to
the normal state. Anyway, you can execute the opposite commands:
$ synclient TapButton2=1
$ synclient TapButton3=1
$ synclient ClickFinger2=1
$ synclient ClickFinger3=1
$ synclient HorizTwoFingerScroll=1
$ synclient VertTwoFingerScroll=1
Please, check that your device is supported by uTouch:

Thank you jose.exposito89@gmail.com for your answer
I reboot but the problem continues. If I introduced one of this command I see
the following:
Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?
The drivers apparently are in good condition and after that I reinstall but
continue with the problem
I don't know what can be causing the problem
Thank you

I also had the problem that no gestures are recognized in unity. Following the
instructions here(
http://askubuntu.com/questions/57586/how-can-i-disable-arbitrary-default-multito
uch-gestures-in-unity/90383#90383 )worked for me to enable 3 and 4 fingure
gestures.
After that I executed the commands from here (
http://code.google.com/p/touchegg/issues/detail?id=171#c7 ) to also enable two
fingure gestures.
Good Luck!

I have similar problem of 3-finger gestures not being recognized, but I'm using
Gnome3.6.
Currently, 2-finger scrolling works fine, but "pinch" and "rotate" gestures
does not (they are also recognized as scrolling).
I have Elantech Touchpad on Samsung NP530U3C.
Any ideas on how to disable Gnome's "internal" multitouch? (which is not
working tbh; I guess it's the only thing that causes problems)
Thanks

Already did this. It only enabled two-finger scrolling.

Hi,
I have the same problem : with the manipulation you suggest here, only two
fingers with a DRAG action seems to be working. I already did all the stuff
with synClient, which enabled the recognition of actions with two fingers...
But no pinch, no tap action recognized, and nothing with three or more fingers.
And BTW, I think you'd gain much if you could do a little tutorial on the wiki
to install touchegg (and have it running automatically, instead of having to
launch it manually in a console)...
Thanks ! :)

@postadelmaga Check your trackpad uTouch support:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/HardwareSupport
When Touchégg runs but not recognizes any gesture, it is because your hardware
is nor supported by uTouch.
> is it working with other distro ?
Yes, check the downloads page please

Hi Jose. I've bee trying to get Touchegg to work on my Ubuntu 13.04, but it's
proving difficult. May I know what is the correct way to install it? My
trackpad is Synaptics (SynPS/2). According to the Ubuntu hardware support page,
it says some Synaptics devices work but not with more than 3 finger support,
but it's okay. Here's what I tried:
Before installing Touchegg, I edited
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf and changed all "synaptics" to
"evdev", and restarted, but my touchpad didn't work. So I reverted, and then
installed touchegg. I changed "synaptics" to "evdev", restarted, and started
touchegg, but the touchpad still didn't work. If I start touchegg while using
the synaptics drivers, the touchpad works normally, as if nothing happened.

@specialalaa
In Ubuntu 11.04 and above it is not necessary to change the driver:
https://code.google.com/p/touchegg/wiki/ConfigureDevices
Please, try to run this commands (https://code.google.com/p/touchegg/wiki/FAQ)
synclient TapButton2=0
synclient TapButton3=0
synclient ClickFinger2=0
synclient ClickFinger3=0
synclient HorizTwoFingerScroll=0
synclient VertTwoFingerScroll=0

In my computer, this just stops two and three finger gestures to be recognized
by the synaptics driver, but they still aren't detected by TouchEgg.
