iOS 16 Lock Screen widget not appearing #505

Open Shmern99 opened 2 years ago

I’ve recently updated to ios16 on an iPhone 12 and updated the watch app to the latest version 1.2.5 build 1040 , but the watch app widget for Lock Screen is still not available ? Is this a known issue ?

There's a known issue where some new widgets don't show up until you reboot once or twice after opening the app that installs them. I also didn't have it, so I opened Watch For Tesla, rebooted, went back to widgets, and there it was.

Thanks tried this multiple times, still no joy (although will keep trying!)

Same here. Using 1.2.6 (1086).

Hmmm - works just fine on mine with 1086...

Did you already try rebooting and then launch the app first before adding widgets?

I actually had the same issue on my iPhone 12 test device - it had a NEW build of iOS 16.1 to install, even though it was already running iOS 16.1. It was as an update in the bottom under "also available" like when first upgrading to iOS 16. Super weird. But widgets worked after applying that update.

I have tried rebooting several times, and the last time I followed your procedure by opening the app first after rebooting, then adding the widget. But unfortunately to no avail. I didn't find any addition for 16.1 either.

So watch for Tesla is not in the list of widget providers at all?

Not even for Home Screen widgets?

mobile26 commented 1 year ago

They are listed. Here is how it looks on the Home Screen:

Ok - that's weird - I'll have to see if I can reproduce. Seems like something is crashing the renderer.

When opening the app, did it manage to get new updated data from the car?

mobile26 commented 1 year ago

Yes, and the widget when pressed links to the app.

I don't know if this helps, but I haven't used WfT widgets before so this was my first attempt. If the update relies on them being in use from a previous install, then maybe….

Nope, that should not be the case.

I'll look into this tonight - on my way to legoland with the kids :-D

Was there this summer (just like the last 4 summers) with the grandchildren. I think it is the best time for a visit at this time of year. Too many people in summer time. Have a nice trip!

I checked the stats now and it turns out that the car has been awake for 12 hours from the time I installed the widgets. I immediately removed them and the car went to sleep after 8 minutes. Obviously the problem I've had with the widget has a bigger impact.
